Nature and Scope of Position:

1. Work closely with the Head, Vaccination, General Physician and the Nursing Specialist to implement the goals, objectives and strategic plans on vaccination;
2. Collects, records, and analyses client health data and maintains extensive and accurate documentation which is subject to frequent audit.
3. Provides critical support to the General Physician / Nursing Specialist in making pre-vaccination assessments / clinical examinations.
4. Organize the administration of vaccines as per standard practices or under guidance and specific directives of the General Physician / Nursing Specialist by planning and scheduling the works / shifts of the nursing staff.
5. Carry out free immunization for children from birth through adulthood;
6. Carry out adult & travellers clinic vaccinations.
7. Carry out immunizations as per the National Travellers’ Vaccination program.
8. Carry out all other immunizations referred by the relevant authorities of the SCH, Public Health Department or other health authorities.
9. Appropriately educate the clients in relation to specific vaccines, vaccine schedules, risk/benefits, adverse events, and post-immunization care.
10. Provide emergency care to clients in rare situations of an adverse event related to an immunization.
11. Provide support in organizing massive immunization campaigns and out break vaccinations or any similar situations of national emergencies;
12. Participates in all health promotion and education activities organized by the PH Department on immunization / vaccination.
13. Support immunization activities, programs or care provided to specific populations or in response to epidemic outbreaks;
14. Works with individuals and interacts with a variety of health care providers, community organizations to introduce needed modifications to the services provided by the Supreme Council of Health;
15. Refers clients to appropriate community or public agencies to obtain services or assistance to improve or maintain social functioning and health; and refers clients to physicians when medical intervention is indicated;
16. Assists in all immunization activities in Schools, health clinics and other public places to assess the level of compliance and reports to the department.
17. Assist in the documentation of the administration of vaccine and recording adverse events so that subsequent immunizations can be provided in a safe and timely manner.
18. Ensure that own personal immunizations are current (e.g., Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria every 10 years, annual influenza immunizations).
19. Render all support and motivation to the entire nursing staff working in the Vaccination section.
20. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
