Nature and Scope of Position:

1. Work closely with the Head, Vaccination to implement the goals, objectives and strategic plans for the Public Health Department in the Health Protection, mainly on communicable diseases and all activities related to vaccination;
2. Responsible for providing support in overseeing and managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Vaccination Section including service delivery, quality assurance and other compliances of standards and performance.
3. Provide leadership, direction and decision making support for all the clinical / nursing staff towards high quality of care and service.
4. Responsible for providing support in ensuring the WHO standards in cold chain processes, storage and distribution of vaccines and vaccination applications.
5. Responsible for coordinating free immunization for children from birth through adulthood;
6. Responsible for administering implementation of adult & travellers clinic vaccinations.
7. Provide support on the successful coverage of immunizations as per the National Travellers’ Vaccination program.
8. Responsible for covering all mandatory requirements of immunization for Pre School, School and University requirements.
9. Responsible for administering all other immunizations referred by the relevant authorities of the SCH, Public Health Department or other health authorities.
10. Provide support and medical expertise in organizing massive immunization campaigns and out break vaccinations or any similar situations of national emergencies;
11. Properly advising the Head of Vaccination on ensuring vaccine safety including, usage, distribution and safety;
12. Provide support and medical expertise in coordinating and monitoring the vaccination programs and practices through Primary Health Centers, Private sector clinics and Organizations such as Qatar Petroleum.
13. Provide support and medical expertise in ensuring that Primary Health Centers, Private sector clinics and Organizations such as Qatar Petroleum follow standard practices on cold chain processes & equipments.
14. Participate and coordinate educational and training services to healthcare providers, community health fairs etc.
15. Participate in major decision making processes for the implementation of various programs of the Vaccination Center including budget planning and expenditures.
16. Support establishing standards of performance with which to measure effectiveness and efficiency of clinical / nursing staff activities consistent with the Supreme Council of Health policies and procedures.
17. Create a culture of high performance and accountability through motivating clinical / nursing staff that enables the Vaccination Center to fulfil its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.
18. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Head of Vaccination or other Supervisory Officers.
